Bitwise Industries Selects Merced as Newest City In Growing Tech Ecosystem

FRESNO, Calif., Dec. 17, 2019 – Bitwise Industries (www.bitwiseindustries.com) announced today its expansion into the heart of Downtown Merced, Calif. Construction on the third location in Bitwise’s growing technology ecosystem will begin before the end of the year at 1635 M Street. By early 2021, the Merced community will be able to take coding classes at Geekwise Academy, solve business problems with locally built custom software via Shift3 Technologies and enjoy Bitwise’s innovative spaces built for collaboration, all in Downtown Merced.

“Earlier this year we began our first expansion outside of Fresno, in Bakersfield. Now, just a few months later, we’re thrilled for Bitwise to become part of the Merced community and to welcome Merced into the Bitwise family,” said Channelle Charest, Executive Director of Growth, Bitwise Industries. “Merced is at a unique moment with major investments in its Downtown, a world-class university and a large population of first-generation college students living alongside immense human potential woven throughout the region. Our goal is for Bitwise to join in that work by catalyzing a local technology industry, connecting untapped talent to opportunity in tech, and wrapping it all in an inclusive and inspiring community. We’re excited to be a part of what’s happening in Merced!”

“Revitalizing Downtown, supporting education for all citizens and developing job opportunities in one of the most exciting industries in the world, are key initiatives where Bitwise and the City of Merced are deeply aligned,” said Mike Murphy, Mayor of Merced. “We can’t wait to see the new Bitwise Merced location and to welcome them into our community.”
